4 - 1 League Win Away To Betley

(Brian Roberts 21/10/2018)
I don’t want to sound repetitive but it was another professional performance from our boys today – a privilege to watch from the sidelines.
Betley are a good side and will do well this season but we were in control of this match from beginning to the end. Our fitness was good from most players (I will speak to the individuals who need to step up a little πŸ˜“ ) but we just played good football. It is beginning to feel like the coaches are having to speak less and less from the sidelines (thank goodness some will say 🀣).
It took us a few minutes to score in the first half and some of that is because of our higher fitness levels - as it starts to put pressure on the opposition as they get tired. But also to do with the desire of our boys to win. Josh and Evan were having their game recorded today and not sure it was because of the cameras but these two had quality performances. Great debut in the centre of defence from George - and Sean has scored his well deserved debut goal after all his efforts so far this season.
It would be remiss not to mention Owen who has been awesome all season at the back but is now adding goals to his game – two great headers from corner kicks. Last one great to have Ellis back and while I have seen him play much better even at half pace he is a super star and it showed with his goal today. Tough match against Tarvin coming up next Sunday.
