Home Win V Nantwich Pumas
(Brian Roberts 18/11/2018)
7 - 0 win with goals from Ben (3) Ellis, Sean, Luke & Evan.
They describe it as a perfect hat-trick left foot, right foot & a header – so pleased for Ben he has has been threatening to do this for the last few games it is well deserved. Great to see Luke back and while he had quite a quiet start his talent shone through with a great strike to grab a goal for us. No surprise that Ellis and Sean made it onto the score sheet – but I am just loving seeing the developing partnerships right across the team from our exciting attacking options - to the grit and subtle talent in midfield and the impenetrable defence. The nice surprise of the day was a goal from our terrier ‘Evan’ – it was down to his sheer determination and not the most spectacular but my favourite goal of the game.
Nantwich have had some great results this season especially in the last few weeks which makes this result all the more impressive. While Dylan did not have a lot to do – the question is was that because of the initial back three of Connor, George & Owen being impossible to penetrate or when our Lewis dropped into defence? Which ever it was the changes we made were seamless and make me feel very optimistic for the rest of the season. We will need a full squad if we are to have a successful season. We are doing well so far this season but we haven’t won anything yet and we aren’t even half way way through. Every player has an important part to play and we want to keep these guys together for a few seasons yet ……..
