5 - 1 Home Win Against Sandbach
(Brian Roberts 09/12/2018)
Goals Ben 2 Ellis 1 Evan 1 & Josh 1.
This game was a real battle in muddy conditions. Sandbach are a strong physical side and they made us work so hard for these three points. But the players were awesome from the professional performance from Dylan in goal who made a couple of great saves. To the solid wall of the back three of George Connor and Owen who seem impenetrable.
But anyway what about the game . . . . . We knew Sandbach were going to give us a tough game and we soaked up that pressure for 15/20 minutes until Owen brought the Ball out of defence and played a deft ball to Ellis on the left wing. Ellis breezed past the defence to lay up Ben who was in the perfect position to slot our first goal home. The second was an incredible run from Sean from the halfway line fast determined and unstoppable until he also laid up Ben for his second. Great first half 2 - 0 up.
It was great to have Tom involved today his quality would make a difference to any team. In the second half he takes a long range shot where their keeper makes another good save but Ellis was there to follow up and score our third goal. In the second half we had Olly up front and his speed was too much for the Sandbach defence he just ran straight at them and played a lovely chipped cross to Evan to head home for our fourth goal. The final goal came from a Josh penalty.
The lads have got a real confidence about them now that is great to see. We still have some challenging matches to go but I don’t think we should under estimate the importance of this win.
