10 - 2 Away Win At Holmes Chapel
(Brian Roberts 16/12/2018)
Hat-tricks from Sean and Tom supported by goals from Evan, George, Luke and Ellis makes it a nice round 10 goals today.
A cold, early December morning, saw some bleary eyed Witton boys take a trip to Holmes Chapel to try and maintain our unbeaten record for the 2018/19 system. Well they did more than that they tore apart the opposition. Even though we were six nil up by half time these boys are now ruthless and carried on the same in the second half. It was great to see solid performances from Lewis and Jordan at the back and also a debut goal from our Centre back George. It is difficult to highlight specific performances but we can highlight a fantastic team spirit that we have from Dylan through to our potent strike force up front.
Wonderful way to finish 2018/19 – we haven’t won anything yet but we are top of the league table with games in head over our opposition and we remain the only unbeaten team this season. The lads deserve a break now. We have a game on Sunday 6th Jan and then every Sunday until the end of the season. So we will definitely get straight back to training on Wednesday 2nd January to burn off the Christmas pub.
Have a great break and we will see you in 2019.
