Witton Albion JFC

On a lovely sunny Sunday morning the season kicked off with a home fixture against Sandbach Harriers who finished third in Division 2 last season narrowly missing promotion. Although the opposition could only field 10 players the boys performance was a credit to the scoreline. Credit also to the opposition for not giving up and they battled hard but our defence was solid across the full width of the park.
The level of performance given by the boys was excellent with 5 different scorers (Charlie L (3), Alex (2), Joe (2) Scott (1) and Jack (1). Further signings today with the welcome return of Charlie K to bolster the squad.
Parents man of the match was Charlie L (with a hat trick too) and Managers Man of the Match with a rock solid performance and good organisation of the team was Tom C.
With the squad stability and others returning to fitness it is a good solid base to build on this year.
