Winsford Over 3 - Great All Round Performance
(Colin Latter 15/09/2019)
After last weeks sunny weather comes the grey days but the team shone bright.
With a heavy pitch due to clumps of cut grass the boys set off really well determined and were 2 up in ten minutes. The third goal went in before Winsford had even thought about a reply but they were a good team, physical (which we knew) but there were some excellent performances by all the team. Winsford came out in the second half and we had to weather a string storm from them but the boys held firm. There were some excellent saves made by Sam at crucial moments in the game but he was absolutely solid and it was only rebounds from an initial save that went in for Winsford and he got managers Man of Match for this performance today.
As for the Parents Man of the Match it was absolutely unanimous and very well deserved with four goal Tom B and also his overall performance and effort. Possibly one of his best performances for the team ever.
A couple more goals saw the game closed out and a "comfortable" 6-2 victory and 2nd place in the league.
There were elements from training that we started to see today in the game and even the communication is starting to appear on the pitch which is good to see they have listened.
