Sandbach Kites - The Good Start Continues
(Colin Latter 22/09/2019)
The forecasted heavy rain stayed away and turned out to be a cracking day for match.
Full squad turnout was a promising start but Scott had a pre-existing injury which excluded him from the team. It was a great attitude to at least show up and see if he could play but it was obvious he couldn't, so he stayed and supported his teammates.
A determined Sandbach team turned up with a good attitude too and were hard to break down. 1st half saw the boys pretty much in the opponents half most of the time but couldn't seem to find the net until Ewan hit a stunning volley that looped over the keeper and that signaled the start of the goals. Tom B hit the bar and eventually the second goal, Tom B's first, went in and the boys went in 2-0 up but it was far from comfortable.
The second half was more of the same with some solid defending by the boys and 2 more goals from Tom B, the best being a great header from a Harvey cross.
So a hat trick (and match ball) for Tom B.
Parents Man of the Match was Tom C for a solid defending performance and this was also the reason that Spencer got Managers Man of the Match for a superb, solid performance at the back.
Good team performance again which is encouraging and maintains the good start to the season.
