Wolves V Vale Juniors congleton Viking’s
We struggled today with numbers of players as 3 were injured and one was away.
With 12 players and three of them injured we knew it was going to be a tough game.
Well done to Zakee for trying to help the team today by playing.
First half performance was good at times but again we started slow and struggled with the pace of the game. The wind and the hill was against us but the lads persevered and scored three goals. Vale got one back which seemed to ignite the boys.
Half time team talk consisted of the gaps in our play and the desire to win the ball and keeping possession as we now only had the 11 players. We asked the boys to let the ball do the work and be clever when in possession.
They stood up to the task and took everything on board. Second half they all played very nice football through the thirds. Our counter attacking seems on point too, as the lads seemed to have taken on board that they don’t need to take on the whole team individually, there was a lot more passing and moving which was great to watch.
Defence once again were solid and the back four seem to have understanding that of each other and positional awareness.
Well done to Charlie B for his hat- trick, Jack A for his two goals, Kian for his two goals, Luca, and Fraiser for their goals too!! 9 in total.
MOTM went to Harvey Prescott for a great performance in defence, he seems to be taking on board what’s being coached and really improving his game.
Well done to all the boys, a good performance!
Goals-
CB 3, JA 2, KC 2, FR 1, LP 1.
