Under 14 - Warriors

Frodsham Town - A Game Of Two Halves

(Steve Comboy 30/09/2019)
With the deluge of rain on Saturday the game was in doubt. An early pitch inspection by the Frodsham management deemed the pitch to be playable although the dimensions of the pitch and goal size were questionable!

The first half of the game was pretty uneventful, Frodsham took the lead from the penalty spot and defended well until Tom hit the back of the net with a neat individual run.

The half time team talk was firm (but fair) as the lads all new that they weren't performing to their best ability. There was a lack of intensity in the first half which has been apparent in the last three games

True to form the lads picked their heads up and started to play like they have been, fast flowing, good switches, balls out to the wings and a high pressing line. The result of this was 8 further goals and in the end a more than convincing victory to continue the great start.

The icing on the cake today were the three individual hat-tricks with some superb finishing. Tom Ball, Alex Taylor and Charlie Keeney all netted three times each, the first time i've ever been involved in a game where that has happened.

The parents man of he match went to Tom Ball, (Alex was only one vote behind) and the managers player went to Charlie Keeney for his tat-trick from the bench and two assists. Well done to all the lads on a fantastic second half and overall prefomamce.
