District Cup - Egerton Lions
(Colin Latter 20/10/2019)
With many games called off due to waterlogged pitches Moss Farm was one of the few venues still playable. the pitch was in good condition and the boys were in good spirits for the teams first ever District Cup game.
Egerton were an unknown team to us although some of the boys knew the opposition.
Following a request from James, a minutes silence was observed by both teams in honour of Charlie K's auntie before the match start.
As we kicked off the boys settled in to their usual game style which seems to now be instilled in their psychy which is good to see. Their hard work and effort was rewarded with plenty of early shots on goal and within about 10 minutes they were 5-0 up and it was starting to look like a very one sided game. Some good all round performances from many players, Scott, Tom C, Sam B, Harvey, Jack, Caleb, Alex and Ewan to name a few.
The final 12-0 score actually didn't do the boys performance justice as there could have been a lot more goals. We even had the opportunity to take Sam off and put Tom C into goals who made a couple of good saves too adding to his hat trick. Because of his overall performance Parents man of the match and Managers man of the match went to Hat-trick hero and part time goalkeeper Tom C. A considerable achievement for a central defender.
