Grapenhall White
(Steve Comboy 04/11/2019)
After another wet week this weekends fixture had a question mark hanging over it. The 8.30 pitch inspection was carried out by the Grappenhall management and the pitch was deemed fit. All the way to Grappehall we were greeted by thick fog but on our arrival the pitch was clear and in impeccable condition for the time of the year.
Grappenhall were to be our closest opposition to date. A good footballing team with three or four exceptional players and a couple who play in the Junior Premier League.
Our pre-match chat was constructive and the lads decided to opt for a back four with a fifth man sat just in front as opposed to a more conventional 4-4-2. The game plan was excellent and from the off we had general control of the match. The game should of been out of sight with the chances we created but its also only fait to note some exceptional goalkeeping at the Grappenhall end kept the score line fairly respectable.
Goals for Tom Ball, Tom Cook who has got a taste for the glory in the last few games, Harvey with a screamer and Ewan with the fourth. Well earned man of the matches this week were Ewan (parents) and Alex (mamangers) for a exceptional mid field display.
Another all round great team performance!
