Under 13 - Wolves

Middlewich V Wolves 26/01/20

(Riz Mansoor 31/01/2020)
Middlewich V Wolves 26/01/2020

An away match to Middlewich this week. Weather was fine, pitch was reasonable but seemed small.

The lads got off to a very good start and played some outstanding football. It was the first time we’d seen them put 10 passes together in game. Although the pitch was congested the boys played really well and used the width of the pitch to their advantage.

They played like real professionals, I could see them thinking more about the right pass, their concentration levels were amazing.

This led to the lads making an abundance of opportunities on goals. They struggled to find the back of the net the majority of the time and were lacking that killer instinct on goal, but this is something we can work on.

The score ended up 4-2 to us. Well done Ruben, Niky, Charlie and Luca!

They scored fantastic goals and also the build up and team play to get the goals was outstanding. Lots of passing and moving a real team effort.
It was good to see them not argue as much or heads drop when the opposition scored, something we’ve discussed with the lads.

It was a really nice game to watch, great football by the the lads. It was also good to see all the lads put in the graft and really battle for their team mates. Everyone tracked back to help!

The confidence, maturity and drive the lads showed this game is what we expect and with this mind set they’ll all develop into outstanding players and get the results they deserve. As coaches on the side lines ranting and raving, we were proud of you all, although it may not seem like that during the match (mainly me not Mike).

MOTM- we’ll done Zakee, coming back from a difficult ankle injury and taking responsibility for your own fitness to get back into the team. You preformed very well and keep it up.
