CUPSET BUT PROUD!
(Andy Forbes 02/11/2014)
Witton had a tough draw at home to first division Davenham Dynamoes yesterday and despite being under-strength, held their high-flying local rivals for most of the match until a wonder goal won it for the yellow army.
A well-taken penalty from Keegan and another from poach-meister Ollie raised hopes from the large red and white home crowd for a famous victory, however it was not to be as they flagged in the second half of an open encounter, with Elliot pulling off some very brave saves to keep Witton in the hunt.
"Very proud of the boys today, they gave 124%!" exclaimed the miserable manager at the end of the game. "but, I want them to work hard on that first touch and simple passing, we'll get there with hard work and the right attitude!.
Manager's Man of the Match: Noah
Captain's Man of the Match: Luke
Magic moment: 5 pass move nearly resulting in a top goal in the first half!
Quote of the day: "not offside, it was like 20 MILES offside!"
