CUPSET V2

(Andy Forbes 08/11/2015)
It was all hands to the pump as the Vics' home ground was deemed unplayable and the crunch cup match was diverted to the Witton NCC Bowl, the manager was diverting traffic as DJ hauled the goals single-handedly onto the pitch, where the Witton parents expertly completed the unfathomable puzzle of the prong-thingies-into-the ground-whilst-hooking-the-nets. Some rugby parents were somewhat put out as they were forced into a car park brimming with people wanting to watch the beautiful game, as opposed their preference of watching ineffectual heaving and grunting.

Vics just sneaked the game despite an acrobatic display by Elliot J and a never-say-die running and tackling display by Lewis. Although Witton had a few chances, the gulf in class was clear and the Vics ran out clear winners. The referee opened the bidding at 6, Vics countered with 10+ and in the end everyone left as friends with the compromise of 8.

A good second half display from the Albs bodes well for the upcoming fixtures in division 2 and the fans are expecting a big uptick in results in the run up to Santa time.

Captains' man of the match: Elliot J
Managers man of the match: Lewis
Magic moment: a number of great saves from Alex and Elliot J
Quote of the day: "are you directing traffic to the rugby?"
