CENTURION JIM
(Andy Forbes 06/08/2016)
In an astonishing show of endurance, Witton Albion U13 Parents’ top scorer Jimmy Cripps (3 goals) went a little further this week. Not content with flooring (fairly) the manager at the End of Season Do, the Winsford Winner completed the “Lakes 100”; a running race of 105 miles that must be completed in under 40 hours, raising over £600 for Witton Albion in the process.
On finally completing the event in a Cheshire-record beating time, Jimmy was a little tired but managed to raise a weary hand to point to the other parents of the team…..unfortunately he could not not blurt out the intended words of “beat that” as he collapsed to the unforgiving slate floor…….
The parents, friends and family of Jimmy were united in their praise for Jim’s huge, huge effort for the team. “I’ve done 105…..metres…running for the bus once” muttered the manager on receiving the news.
